The Wolfson Family receives United Way’s highest honor

The Wolfson family has been philanthropically supporting education, healthcare, affordable housing, and the arts in Miami for over 100 years. Their dedication has earned them the 2023 Tocqueville Award for Outstanding Philanthropy, United Way of Miami’s highest honor, Miami’s Community News reports. Led by Colonel Mitchell Wolfson, the family has been a significant supporter of Miami-Dade College and the Wolfsonian Museum-FIU. Louis Wolfson III, a founding partner of Pinnacle, one of Florida’s largest developers of affordable housing communities, continues the family’s legacy by building affordable and market-rate housing throughout Florida. The award recognizes the Wolfsons’ commitment and generosity in improving the lives of others and creating a lasting impact in their communities. “Workforce housing and education are two of the major building blocks to build people and to grow communities,” Louis Wolfson III said “All boats rise together. A rising tide really does change lives.”
